College Hostel::


College has one Gent's Hostel with 70 seats and one Ladies Hostel with 120 Seats.

(a) Students seeking admission into the College Hostel are required to apply in the prescribed form. It should reach the principal within the specified date the candidates will be selected by a Selection Board which shall consist of the Superintendent, as the Chairman and two members of the teaching staff, nominated by the Principal for admission into the college hostel.

Seats will be allotted by the Superintendent to those who produce receipt of admission to the hostel in the hostel office. Past boarders may be admitted into the hostel, if their past conduct was satisfactory.A boarder has to sign an undertaking: if he is a major and in case of a minor his/her father or natural guardian has to sign an undertaking at the time of the admission into the college hostel to the effect that he will abide by the Hostel Rules as laid down in the college calendar. No student will be allowed to leave the hostel temporarily for more than 12 hours without the prior permission of the Superintendent.

(b) Withdrawal from the hostel requires the sanction of the Principal.Application for withdrawal should be made by the Guardian. No

boarder will be allowed to leave the hostel without the prior permission of the Superintendent (who will ascertain that all dues to the hostel are paid before leaving)

(c) Boarder, once admitted has to pay the whole year, if he/she leaves the hostel in the middle on the session. Boarders Leaving the hostel after X-mas holidays will have to pay hostel dues excluding mess dues for the remaining months. The hostel remains closed during the Puja vacation and X-mas holidays and summer vacation. Hostel admission is made on the basis of merit and deservingness. If required the boarder may be allowed to stay for a part of vacation with prior permission of the superintendent and of the Principal. Admission and re-admission to hostel can not be claimed as a matter of right.Boarders are responsible for the safe keep of the furniture and electrical goods supplied to them and are liable to pay damage charges.


1. No boarders shall be absent from the hostel during the study hours (from 7A.M. to 9 A.M.) and from (7 P.M. to 9.30 P.M.) and after the night rollcall at 10.30 P. M. without the prior permission of the Superintendent. A boarder can leave the hostel temporarily in an emergency after giving sufficient ground in the log book maintained in the Hostel Office.

 2. During the study hours the boarders are expected to be in their seats and in no case create disturbances to others by any action what so over.

3. There will be rollcall 15 minutes after the commencement of the study hours in the evening. the Prefect will conduct the rollcall.

4. The prefect will be nominated by the Superintendent and will be incharge of the discipline of the boarders and the general cleanliness of the hostel wards.

5. Boarders in all cases should obtain permission of the Superintendent and Principal before taking part in any association or meeting outside the College. All movements initiated by the students whether for calling a meeting or circulating a notice or raising subscriptions must receive prior permission of the Superintendent.

6. The Superintendent has the power of censoring all materials brought into the hostel. The introduction or keeping any objectionable matter and such things into the hostel will be regarded as a breach of discipline.

7. The superintendent & Deputy Superintendent will be responsible for the maintenance of order and discipline and has power to punish boarders for the breach of discipline. All cases of gross misconduct should be reported to the Principal.

8. The Superintendent will maintain a conduct register of the Boarders in which all fines and punishment will be maintained gross misconduct of a boarder will render him liable to have his name entered in the conduct register maintained in the College.

9. The following will be considered as the breach of discipline and will be dealt with fines and to the extend of removing the boarder from the Hostel.

a) Absent from Hostel without leave.

b) Continued neglect of studies.

c) Want of cleanlines and neatness in the room.

d) Frequent absence from the Hostel in the study hours.

e) Singing or playing in any musical instrument using mobile phones or watching Television except during the specified hours.

f) Holding of a meeting in the Hostel without the permission of the Superintendent or discussion of any subject in the meeting without prior approval of the Superintendent.

10. Other rules and regulation regarding discipline in the hostel may be introduced by the Principal or the Superintendent.
